The effortless chic Parisian style doesn't have to be just in Paris. Here are some of my style inspiration on how to achieve the classic beauty wherever you are.
After my trip to Paris, I cannot stop falling in love with its culture, history, architecture and of course fashion style. It's simple yet elegant, chic and effortless. it is a French cliché for a reason.
Capturing Parisian Style
Finding a French vibe atmosphere isn't easy when you are not in France. Yet, recently, K11 Musea (An art and design based mall) in Hong Kong is paying homage to Paris. It sets up the iconic brasserie chairs as seen in every café in every corner of Paris, fills the rooftop garden with café tables and immerses the air with blooming flowers from the flower shop.
Invest in Quality Piece
Quality Piece doesn't mean getting all the luxury pieces you can find. It really takes one simple step : pay attention to the material and texture. How does the piece feel when you touch it? Is it soft? or is it rough?
Having a long-lasting quality piece is way more important than following fast-fashion in the world of French fashion. Quality over quantity.
SHOP MY LOOK:
Almost all of the French brand have high quality garments so here are a few affordable ones that resonate with my style :
Maje Paris
Sandro Paris
Sezane
Rouje Repetto
Find a piece that you like and invest in it that could last you for a few years. When it comes to investing pieces, be careful to choose a timeless piece that wouldn't go out of style.
Here's what I picked from Maje 2021 Spring/ Summer Collection:
(My favourite colors are pink and lavender so this is a no brainer.)
- Checked cardigan is one of the staples in Parisian fashion.
- Tweed skirt is an elegant piece to elevate your whole outfit
- A cliché beret

Capturing the Mood
“Be original, show off your style, and tell your story.”
Parisian vibe has this little vintage feeling to it. Think of how they preserve their architecture like Louvre, Eiffel tower from 16th Century. Everything seems so classy and timeless. That's why I capture the fashion mood with a film camera to show the essence of the vintage mood.
I'm working with my friend to create this set of film photos. Though I'm not a professional photographer, I do know how to style my vision and tell a story through the photos. I wanted these photos to have a warm, pastel, vintage touch to it. And that is how it turned out:
